MY COMMUNITY MATTERS
Director of Padres Unidos
Padres Unidos is Arizona's Largest Hispanic Parent Education Network.
I direct this grassroots organization addressing the crisis in Hispanic education by providing parents with free information and resources to guide them in becoming advocates for their children.
Founder of Bella Q Dance Studio
I created Bella Q Dance Studio to provide a dedicated safe and positive atmosphere where people will find outstanding customer service, motivating fitness, dance routines for both children and adults, and a healthy sense of community. Sharing my passion for dance and the Latin Caribbean culture is the means I use to meet my goals of increasing self-esteem, physical and mental health, and creating a healthy, caring community. While all are welcome, I have a special place in my heart for women and youth.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving
I have worked with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) performing the opening act at their annual MADD walk in the spring. I was the voice for their Spanish PSA campaign, educating the Hispanic community about the consequences of drinking and driving.
Bella's Summer Dance Camp
Every summer I have hosted dance camps for the children and youth. Over a thousand children have been part of this empowering program that caters to improve their self esteem and mental health. They learn to appreciate diversity as we introduce cultural dances from around the world.
Living Hope Ministries
Performed and participated in Sam Acho’s (Arizona Cardinals Linebacker #94) Fundraising event “Living Hope Ministries” to help build a hospital in Nigeria. In attendance were Larry Fitzgerald and Ron Wolfley, among others.
Bringing culture and diversity to the valley was one of my goals. That's why I started the Dominican Festival in 2001 and successfully planned and processed other major public events such as the Annual Dominican Gala, participated at Cinco de Mayo and Dia de los Niños celebrations.
